HOW MUCH TRAINING HAVE YOU HAD?

I have completed over 3,000 hours with my Master's Degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University, Bloomington MN. I have then went on to complete an additional 1,000+ Doctorate in pain management from Bastyr University, Kenmore WA. I continue to keep myself current and updated with credentials.

WHAT DO I NEED FOR FIRST TREATMENT?

Proper clothing & nourishment. For first time treatments, wear loose, comfortable clothing. Most acupuncture points I use are on the arms, legs (above the knee) and on the stomach, so make sure these areas are accessible. For those coming in for Hip, Back or Shoulder issues, I provide robes & will drape you with the sheet, so you stay covered and warm. Please eat and drink water prior to your session, nausea and fainting can occur, so please make sure you eat/drink water.

WHY IS THE INITIAL TREATMENT SO LONG

The initial treatment involves a full intake and what brings you in for acupuncture. To get a complete picture, I ask a series of Western and Eastern based questions. This helps me to better understand your health as a timeline and what will be the best treatment for you. Screening also helps me to safely choose the best acupuncture points, complimentary Chinese modalities, and If referral is necessary for your health & safety. Follow up appointments will have shorter intakes and will focus on the Eastern questions.

HOW DO YOU ACCEPT PAYMENTS?

  • PAYPAL & SQUARE is available online for bookings.

  •  You can pay by credit/debit with SQUARE day of treatment in the office, (however it is Preferred all credit/debit is paid online)

  • I recommend online payments for those who wish to PRINT THEIR OWN COPY of a receipt (Only digital copy via TEXT or EMAIL can be provided in office)

  • CASH in my office with SQUARE day of treatment in the office, please have exact  amount, Digital Record in the form of TEXT or EMAIL ( I CANNOT PRINT receipts)

HOW IS BETWEEN TWO POINTS ACUPUNCTURE DIFFERENT FROM OTHER CLINICS?

Dr. Karin Tomesh has braided her love of Western medicine with Chinese Medicine. She has had the opportunity to integrate with MD's at Harborview Medical Center, Seattle WA. She is passionate about health, beauty, and pain management. If I do not know the answer, I will continue to learn & network with local providers to deliver the best care.

YOUR BRANDING/CLINIC IS GEARED TOWARD WOMEN, CAN MEN RECEIVE TREATMENTS?

Yes, women, men and all genders welcomed. I specialize in women's health but I am able to provide treatment as a general Chinese Medicine doctor practitioner for any main concern.

WHAT INSURANCES DO YOU ACCEPT?

We do not accept insurance at this time. We accept cash, check and our online bookings allows you to use credit card, square and Paypal.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS SHOULD I DO?

Acupuncture is a lot like exercise. You will need a few sessions to see how your body responds. The first few treatments allow us to see what acupuncture points are helping the most, we'll adjust and do a few more sessions. I recommend at least 5 sessions and at the most 10 sessions.

WHAT KIND OF NEEDLES DO YOU USE? DO YOU REUSE THEM?

I use single-use sterile medical grade needles, they are solid and not hollow. There is nothing in the needles. I follow Clean Needle Technique protocol and OSHA regulations, to prevent the spread of blood borne pathogens. Needles are all disposed of in a sharps container, NO they are not reused. Per my training, I still swab all acupuncture points prior to needling.

WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER AND WHAT ARE THEY?

Chinese Acupuncture, Japanese Acupuncture (fewer needles & gentle shallow insertion), Electro acupuncture (using needles + a machine similar to a TENS unit to run a current to encourage tissue regeneration & pain reduction.) Fire cupping (glass cup + flame, is used to create a vacuum and is like a reverse massage,) many athletes use this to break up muscle tension and bring circulation to painful areas. Facial Gua sha for bringing circulation to the face (uses a tool to gently rub & stimulate skin, great for reducing pimples & softening wrinkles.) Cosmetic acupuncture (MeiZen) for collagen boosting, softening wrinkles and reducing breakouts. Craniosacral, gentle meditation that is a protocol of holds to unwind tight joints, stressed tissues and calm the mind.
